About the area
Forearms: what the area covers and who it suits
The forearms run from the elbow to the wrist. The upper arm is priced separately, and together they are booked as full arms.
This area is on show all year: short sleeves, the steering wheel, the desk, a phone in your hand. The hair here is usually darker and more obvious than on the upper arm, and it is the reason plenty of people avoid short sleeves or shave their arms and end up with coarse stubble.
For the laser, forearms are an easy area: dark hair, evenly spread, firm skin. Results usually show sooner here than on the upper arms.

How many
How many laser hair removal sessions do you need?
Expect 6 to 10 sessions. Forearms respond predictably: the hair is dark, so the laser has something to work with.
The difference between someone's two arms is usually small, so they finish at about the same time. We run both arms as one course.

The session
How the session works
The first step is a free consultation. We check your skin, ask about your health and any contraindications, and do a test flash to set a power level that's comfortable for you.
The session itself uses a hybrid laser (alexandrite, diode and neodymium) with contact cooling, which takes the edge off most of the sensation even in delicate areas. The time depends on the area: small zones take around 15 minutes, large ones up to an hour. Your first visit takes a little longer, as it includes the consultation and test flash.
Preparation
How to prepare for your session
Shave your forearms the day before or on the day of your visit, with a razor rather than wax or an epilator.
Two weeks without sun or tanning beds. For arms this matters most in summer: they tan first, often without you noticing.
The full checklist is in the preparation article.

Aftercare
What to do after the session
The skin may stay warm and red for a few hours. For the first two days skip training and do not carry heavy bags in the crook of your elbow.
Two weeks out of strong sun, with SPF on bare arms. If you drive, remember that hands on the wheel catch the sun through the glass.
The hairs start shedding after a few days. There is no need to shave them off.

Your schedule
When to book the next session
Forearms make it easy to see how the course is going: the regrowth is obvious, and it tells you when the time has come.
The gap is usually 5 to 6 weeks, longer towards the end of the course. We will get in touch when it is time.

Common questions about the forearms
Are the hands and fingers included?+
There is no separate hands area in the price list. If you have hair there too, mention it at the consultation: we will look and sort it out on the spot, with no extra visit. There is no need to shave hands or fingers before the visit; the specialist will look at them herself.
Better to book the forearms alone or full arms?+
Full arms cost 2600 Kc against 2800 Kc for the upper arms and forearms booked separately. If the forearms are all you need, take those.
How many sessions will I need?+
Usually 6 to 10. Forearms respond better than upper arms because the hair here is darker.
Does it hurt?+
Bearable. The skin on the forearm is firm and the area is used to being touched, so it is easier than the sensitive spots.
