About the area
What the front of the neck area covers
The area is the front of the neck: from the line under the chin to the collarbones. The back of the neck and the face are separate areas.
Many men shave the neck every day, and the razor often irritates the skin here: it is thin, and the hair is coarse and grows in different directions. Hence red spots, cuts and ingrown hairs under the collar. More in the article how to get rid of razor irritation.
If you wear a beard, the laser helps keep a sharp lower line: the hair below it grows back less and less, and you touch up your neck less often.

How many
How many sessions you need for the neck
As a guide, 6 to 10 sessions. Men's neck hair is coarse and dark, and the laser works on it well. The first three sessions are 4-5 weeks apart, then the interval grows. We will give you an approximate date at your visit and message you as it gets closer.

The session
How the session works
The first step is a free consultation. We check your skin, ask about your health and any contraindications, and do a test flash to set a power level that's comfortable for you.
The session itself uses a hybrid laser (alexandrite, diode and neodymium) with contact cooling, which takes the edge off most of the sensation even in delicate areas. The time depends on the area: small zones take around 15 minutes, large ones up to an hour. Your first visit takes a little longer, as it includes the consultation and test flash.
Preparation
How to prepare
No need to shave your neck before the visit: the specialist will look and decide whether the hair needs trimming.
Stop tweezing, waxing and epilators 3-4 weeks before. No lotion or cream on your neck on the day of the treatment, and no strong sun or tanning beds for two weeks before the visit.

Aftercare
What to do after the treatment
The skin on the neck is thin, and redness shows more here than on the body. It usually goes within a few hours.
No aftershave or fragrance on the area for 24 hours, and for the first 1-2 days skip the gym, sauna, pool and tight collars. Protect your neck from the sun for two weeks. The hairs start coming out after 5-10 days, and the whole process takes 1-3 weeks. No need to pull them out.

Your schedule
When to come for the next session
The first three sessions 4-5 weeks apart, after that based on how your hair grows. The front of the neck is easy to combine with the face or the back of the neck in one visit.

Questions about laser hair removal on the front of the neck
Can you remove hair only below the beard?+
Yes. We mark the beard line together before the treatment and think it through in advance: after the course, the hair below it grows back much less, and you won't be able to bring back the old outline quickly.
Does it hurt on the neck?+
The neck is more sensitive than the body, so we go slower. The handpiece cools the skin with every flash, and the area is small.
Can I shave between sessions?+
Yes. Only tweezers, waxing and epilators are off limits: they pull the hair out by the root, and the laser has nothing to work on.
How long does a session take?+
15-30 minutes.
