What the back of the neck area covers

About the area

What the back of the neck area covers

This is the back of the neck: from the haircut line down to the shoulders. The front of the neck is a separate area and can be done in the same visit.

Hair below the haircut line grows back a few days after the barber, and the neck looks untidy again. You can't see the back of your own neck, it is hard to shave it evenly, and the razor leaves irritation and ingrown hairs under the collar.

We don't touch the hairline itself. The barber shapes the haircut, the laser only removes the hair below it.

How the session works

The session

How the session works

The first step is a free consultation. We check your skin, ask about your health and any contraindications, and do a test flash to set a power level that's comfortable for you.

The session itself uses a hybrid laser (alexandrite, diode and neodymium) with contact cooling, which takes the edge off most of the sensation even in delicate areas. The time depends on the area: small zones take around 15 minutes, large ones up to an hour. Your first visit takes a little longer, as it includes the consultation and test flash.

Preparation

How to prepare

No need to shave your neck in advance or ask anyone to help: the specialist will look before the treatment and decide whether the hair needs trimming.

Stop waxing and epilators 3-4 weeks before. No strong sun or tanning beds for two weeks before the visit.

What to do after the treatment

Aftercare

What to do after the treatment

Redness on the neck does not last long, usually a few hours.

For the first 1-2 days skip the gym, sauna and pool, and avoid tight collars and scarves. Protect your neck from the sun for two weeks. The hairs start coming out after 5-10 days, and the whole process takes 1-3 weeks.

Questions about laser hair removal on the back of the neck

Will you tidy up my haircut line?+

No. We remove the hair below the haircut line and leave the shape itself alone: that is the barber's job.

How is the back of the neck different from the front?+

The back is below the nape, down to the shoulders. The front is under the chin, down to the collarbones. These are two areas, and both can be done in one visit.

Does it hurt?+

The neck is more sensitive than the back, so we work carefully and take our time. The area is small, and the handpiece cools the skin with every flash.

How long does a session take?+

15-30 minutes.
