Buttocks: what the area covers and who it suits
The buttocks means their whole surface. The crease between them is not included: that is the perianal area, priced separately, though it can be added to the same visit.
For most people the hair here is fine and barely visible - but what removing it leaves behind is very visible. Shaving and waxing easily produce ingrown hairs and red bumps, and underwear, jeans and high-friction sport keep them irritated. The skin here is firm, but it heals no faster than anywhere else.
The laser works on the root of the hair: over time there is less of it and it grows back finer, and the skin stops taking regular damage from the razor. This area is often booked together with the bikini - both are done in one visit.

How many
How many laser hair removal sessions do you need?
Expect 6 to 10 sessions. There is a catch here: on the buttocks the hair is often lighter and finer than in the bikini area, and the laser works better the darker the hair is. Results build more slowly here, and on very light or grey hair the laser does not work at all.
Nobody can name the exact number in advance. At the consultation we look at your hair and tell you what to expect, then track your growth cycle and set the intervals so you get the most out of the fewest sessions.
The session
How the session works
The first step is a free consultation. We check your skin, ask about your health and any contraindications, and do a test flash to set a power level that's comfortable for you.
The session itself uses a hybrid laser (alexandrite, diode and neodymium) with contact cooling, which takes the edge off most of the sensation even in delicate areas. The time depends on the area: small zones take around 15 minutes, large ones up to an hour. Your first visit takes a little longer, as it includes the consultation and test flash.
Preparation
How to prepare for your session
Shave the area the day before or on the day of your visit - not with wax or an epilator: the root has to stay in place. Drop waxing and sugaring 3 to 4 weeks beforehand.
Avoid sun and tanning beds for two weeks before your visit. Come with clean, dry skin, without creams or oils.

Aftercare
What to do after the session
For a few hours the skin may feel warm and look red, sometimes with small bumps around the follicles - a normal reaction that settles within a day.
Wear loose cotton underwear for the first day or two and avoid sitting for long in tight jeans: freshly treated skin does not need the friction. Skip the sauna, the pool and sport for 1 to 2 days, and scrubs and strong sun for 1 to 2 weeks.
After a few days the hairs start to shed. Do not scrub with a rough cloth: the skin already rubs under your underwear.

The gap is usually 4-5 weeks or more, but on the buttocks we go by what you notice rather than by the calendar: the hair is fine and comes back quietly.

Common questions about the buttocks
Is the crease between the buttocks included?+
No, that is the perianal area and it is priced separately at 850 Kc. It can be done in the same visit though, no need to come twice.
Will it help with ingrown hairs?+
Laser hair removal does not cure ingrown hairs you already have, but it does prevent new ones. It works on the cause - the active hair follicle: no hair, nothing left to grow in.
Does it hurt?+
The buttocks are easier than the bikini area: the skin is firmer and the hair finer. The laser's contact cooling takes most of the discomfort away.
How many sessions will I need?+
Around 6 to 10, but a lot depends on how dark your hair is. We will look at the consultation and give you a closer number.
