About the area
Areolas: what the area covers and who it suits
This is about the few hairs around the areolas. The area is tiny, and it sits separately from the chest and décolleté in the price list precisely because it is often the only thing that bothers people.
The hairs are few but dark and coarse, and almost everyone plucks them. The skin around the areolas is thin and sensitive, so tweezers regularly leave irritation and ingrown hairs, and constant plucking makes the hair coarser.
The laser clears those hairs without anything pulling at the skin. We work carefully and at lower power: it is a delicate area and the approach differs from legs.

How many
How many laser hair removal sessions do you need?
Expect 6 to 10 sessions, though there are few hairs here, so each session takes a couple of minutes and the difference shows almost immediately.
Growth in this area on women is often hormone-driven. If it has increased recently, it is worth seeing a doctor alongside the course.

The session
How the session works
The first step is a free consultation. We check your skin, ask about your health and any contraindications, and do a test flash to set a power level that's comfortable for you.
The session itself uses a hybrid laser (alexandrite, diode and neodymium) with contact cooling, which takes the edge off most of the sensation even in delicate areas. The time depends on the area: small zones take around 15 minutes, large ones up to an hour. Your first visit takes a little longer, as it includes the consultation and test flash.
Preparation
How to prepare for your session
There is nothing to shave here: the specialist looks at it on the spot. What matters is different: stop tweezing 3 to 4 weeks beforehand. It is the one point that genuinely counts, because without a root the laser has nothing to work with.
Shaving the day before is fine. Come with no creams or oils on the area.
The rest is in the preparation article.

Aftercare
What to do after the session
The skin may stay red for a few hours, sometimes into the next day: it is thinner here than in most areas.
No cosmetics on the area for a day, no sauna or pool for two. Choose soft underwear, without stiff seams or lace.
The hairs shed on their own within a few days. Do not tweeze whatever is left, or the next session will not work on it.

Your schedule
When to book the next session
Areolas are nearly always done together with the chest and décolleté or the underarms: the area is too small to travel for on its own.
The gap is usually 5 to 6 weeks, the same as the neighbouring areas.

Common questions about the areolas
Is it safe on such a sensitive area?+
Yes, the power is set for the area rather than one setting for the whole body. The first session always starts with a test flash and we watch how the skin responds.
Can I book the areolas alone?+
You can, at 800 Kc. More often they are added to the chest and décolleté or to the underarms in the same visit: travelling for a two-minute treatment makes little sense.
Does it hurt?+
The area is sensitive, but there are few hairs: a few flashes and it is done. Contact cooling takes most of it away.
Can I tweeze between sessions?+
No, that is the main rule for this area. Tweezers pull the hair out by the root and the laser is left with nothing to act on. Shaving is fine.
